Defining Attribute Properties: Label & Options

System > Attributes > Manage Attributes > New Product Attribute

Overview

Use the Manage Label & Options section to set the attribute label and define its selectable options, if it has any. The options available for an attribute depend on which catalog input type has been set. This is set in the Properties section under the Attribute Properties Tab, in the Catalog Input Type for Store Owner option.

Manage Titles

Attributes are variables that describe a product. Whether it is the size, color, manufacturer, or fabric type, these variables will have values. Manage Titles sets the name for the attribute in the front-end.

For example, a new attribute for a camera that defines the camera resolution is titled megapixels.

To complete the Manage Titles section:

1. In the Admin field, type in title value that is used in the administrative backend.

   Note: If the other title fields are not defined, Magento Go will use the title value in Admin for the storefront.

2. In the English field, type in the title value that is used in the English store view.

Manage Titles for Store Views
Get Going and Going Places accounts are available in only one language. Merchants with Go Beyond and Go Anywhere accounts will have two additional text fields in Manage Titles to define the attribute title in its respective language.

Manage Options

For attributes of the input type Multiple Select or Dropdown, the available options can be configured in the Manage Options section.

To complete the Manage Titles section:

1. Click the Add Option button to create a new option.
2. In the Admin field, type in the option label that is used in the administrative backend.

   Note: If the other title fields are not defined, Magento Go will use the title value in Admin for the storefront.

3. In the English field, type in the option label that is used in the English store view.
4. In the Position field, type in the option position relative to the other options.

   Note: Options will be listed in ascending order.
