Braintree provides merchant account services and a payment gateway for processing online credit card purchases. A Braintree merchant account gives you the ability to accept payment by American Express, Visa, and MasterCard.
To get started, you must first open a Braintree merchant account, and configure the Braintree payment gateway for your store.
Before your customers can make a purchase with Braintree, they must complete a credit card profile. The credit card profile can be completed during checkout, or from the customer’s Account Dashboard. A completed credit card profile makes it possible for the customer to speed through the checkout process.
