Managing Tags

Tags are one-word or phrase descriptors that act as keywords. They can be assigned to products by registered customers who are logged in to their account. Tags help customers organize and remember the products that they have seen, offer quick navigation options in your store, and help search engines index your site.

Note: Use spaces to separate tags. Use single quotes (’) for phrases.

Customers can add a tag from the product view page. To add a tag, a customer simply specifies a tag in the Add Your Tags field and clicks the Add Tag button.

Tags must first be approved by the store owner before they appear in your store. After a tag has been approved, it can be used for other products and does not need to be approved again. The approval requirement ensures that no inappropriate or offensive tags are available for use.

To edit and approve a tag:

  1. In the Admin Panel, select Catalog > Tags > Pending Tags.
  2. In the list, click to select the pending tag.

    From this page, you can modify the tag or correct any misspelled words.

  3. To approve the tag, change the Status from “Pending” to “Approved.” To reject the tag, set the status to “Disapproved.”

  4. Click the Save Tag button to save changes.
