The Search Terms report lists the number of results generated from each query term submitted and the number of times each one was submitted, within the range of time specified for the report. The report data can be exported and opened in a spreadsheet for further analysis. If you closely monitor traffic, you can combine the search results from your store with the search results from Google Analytics for a more complete picture of how people arrive at your site, and what they do once they get there.

Note: Because the first column in the report is “ID,” you may not be able to open the file in Excel. The Open Office spreadsheet is an open source equivalent, and sometimes proves to be a better choice for managing import/export data.
