How did you find out about Magento Go?
A former host read about it online and suggested that it would be a big improvement over the clunky platform we had at the time.
What made you choose Magento Go over other eCommerce platform solutions?
The great potential. Magento is investing so much into this platform, that I felt confident in making the switch.
Have you used any other eCommerce platforms before? If so, what makes Magento Go different?
Cascading Style Sheets! Magento Go gives us a much better over-all look. And the pages load faster!
How easy was it to start your store?
Once the database of products from our previous cart was uploaded, we were up and running in about a day. We doubled our product database within a week and have been growing ever since.
How is managing your site day-to-day with Magento Go?
We especially appreciate the reports that Magento Go produces about abandoned carts and about the fastest moving products. We also use the “products in carts” report, to tell us what people are most interested in but that they did not buy. This lets us adjust descriptions or pricing until the ratio between the number of times an item is in a cart is closer to the number of times it sells.
What are the most valuable features of Magento Go?
It is easy to add products in Magento Go. Most of our products are simple, but occasionally there are two sizes of the same pattern and it is nice to be able to add a radio button so that people can select their favorite size. It was used in an order almost as soon as it when up!
The support staff is the shining star, though. They are friendly and knowledgeable. Their “can-do” attitude guarantees that matters of importance to me are not ignored. We have always gotten satisfying answers and solutions.
What are your goals for the future of the site?
ThrowMeAPillow.com is our “retirement” plan. Our goal is to provide a comfortable living for ourselves. It is already replacing one income in our home and has shown potential to give us all we need.
How has Magento Go impacted your business in terms of sales, conversion rate, etc.?
Since switching to Magento Go our sales have tripled. Last Month was a record; $10,000! This is our kind of “interactive computer game”; when we WIN, people send us money.
What advice would you give to merchants just getting started with Go?
I can’t imagine a better platform for our business.
